Week of 5/17
Periods 1 & 4 - Students will: revisit order of operations; identify function rules and complete sequences; practice the 4-step approach to problem solving; revisit writing fractions as mixed numbers and mixed numbers as improper fractions.
Period 3 - Students will: classify angles; identify and classify polygons; identify and classify triangles and quadrilaterals; locate and draw lines of symmetry.

Week of 5/10
Periods 1 & 4 - Students will: Identify and find rates and unit rates; find the missing term in a proportion; determine if two ratios form a proportion; identify similar and congruent figures.

Period 3 - Students will: apply their understanding of volume to solve a variety of real-world problems; determine the effects of applying a scale factor to the dimensions of a prism to the volume and surface area of the prism.
Week of 5/03
Periods 1 & 4 - Students will: determine which features of similar figures are different and which are the same; identify corresponding parts of similar and congruent figures; use ratios of corresponding sides to determine whether two figures are similar; use ratios to identify similar figures; find missing measures in similar figures using proportions; use percents as a proportional relationship to solve problems.


Period 3 - Students will: investigate the relationship between surface area and volume; refine a strategy for finding surface area of a rectangular prism and represent it symbolically; develop a formula for finding the volume of a rectangular prism.

Week of 4/26
Periods 1 & 4 - Continuing ratios, rates, and proportions
Quiz sometime during this week

Period 3 - Finish graphing linear equations and then moving on to Three Dimensional Geometry

4/19 - 4/20/2010
Periods 1 & 4 - Monday & Tuesday, identifying and writing ratios; Next we move to proportions which is comparing ratios.

Period 3 - This week we are finishing up rewriting word problems as algebraic equations.

Homework for Monday and Tuesday are located on the homework page.  There is no homework for Wednesday and Thursday due to ending the marking period on Friday.  ALL papers and corrections MUST be turned in by Friday 4/16/2010 in order to get credit.
